Libraries in or near the Cévennes, the famous mountains in France and their national park: libraries for research, reliable digital information and Internet connectivity -- or if you might, à la Robert Louis Stevenson, long have dreamed of taking on one of France's most famous rambles, randonées pédestres, Le Puy to Alès, 252km, 150+ miles, "Grande Randonnée no. 7" --
-- and in that last case, a ramble of 150+ miles, along the way you might want to locate a "good read", occasionally, for relaxing in the gîte in the evening while you're wandering --
So, hiking down through the Cévennes, with or without your little donkey... There's nearly always a library somewhere nearby when you are in need of a good read, often nowadays one armed with good online digital access too. Digital libraries, then, in these often-tiny mountain towns...
And, as always, additional news about any of the above, or any omitted, and particularly about their digital access and resources and special collections, always will be welcome. Just send me a note.
